Dan Woods
Managing Director, Australia
Dan Woods is WE Australia’s managing director, driving strategic direction and overseeing 50 integrated communications, digital, and social specialists across Melbourne and Sydney. With over 20 years of experience in communications, marketing and business development, Dan helms WE’s Australian leadership and collaborates with fellow leaders in the APAC region.
Dan has spent most of his career in the health care sector, honing his expertise in change management, reputation building and issues management. He believes that relationship building via clear, open communication is a critical facilitator for establishing purpose and team understanding, as well as achieving business outcomes. Throughout his career, Dan has led multimillion dollar rebrands and developed new business lines in new and established markets.
Most notably, Dan led the re-brand of the RDNS Group and RSL Care - who came together in Australia’s largest-ever aged care merger – resulting in the new national brand, Bolton Clarke. Previously, Dan also played a key role in establishing the RDNS Group’s presence in China and Southeast Asia, working with state and national governments and international business partners. As an experienced individual in Australia’s aged and health care industries, Dan holds board positions at Woodlinda, a privately held biotech company, and Palliative Care South East.
Outside work, Dan volunteers as a football coach at Boroondara Hawks Football Club, nurturing junior footballers as they transition from youth to young men. As a husband and father of three, Dan enjoys watching his kids battle it out in various sporting arenas, travelling abroad (especially to Europe), and cooking up a storm to entertain family and friends.
